Bosch Random Orbit 5 inch Sander/Polisher ROS20VSC
One of my favorites on the list, Bosch’s incredible ROS20VSC sander is pretty much perfect for cabinets – including its price-tag. Impressively well-built in both durability and comfort and delivering outstanding finish quality coupled with great dust collection, it’s a beautiful machine all-around. It’s also so lightweight and easy to maneuver that it’s an absolute joy to use plus it comes with its very own carrying case and the price tag is unbelievable.
Incredible quality and price
Variable speed + swirl proof finish
Comfortable to use and super nimble
DEWALT DWE6423K Variable Speed Random Orbit Sander
DeWalt’s popular 5″ RO sander is a great choice for cabinet sanding. Besides its compact body, it has great dust collection, swirl-proof random orbital motion and variable speed to boot. It also features the construction quality you’d expect from DeWalt – rugged – and it also comes with its very own carrying case for free. You can’t go wrong with it.
Makita BO4556 2 Amp Finishing Sander
Super compact, fast and featuring a square 1/4 sheet sanding pad that’s incredibly useful for sanding a cabinet’s interior, Makita’s BO4556 is a fantastic choice all-around and its insanely low price is the cherry on top. It’s also super nimble and lightweight, making it very easy to use and comfortable as well.
BLACK+DECKER BDEMS600 Mouse Detail Sander
An absolutely essential choice either as a side-arm to the sanders above or even as a stand-alone machine, the B+D mouse detail sander will allow you to reach any corner at any angle, ensuring you get a full, professional finish. It’s also very well built and incredibly affordable, making it even more attractive. With a detail-finger attachment included for free, nothing will stand in your way.
Fantastic value and quality
Sands hard to reach places
Essential to ensure a perfect finish
Side-note: If you’ve got some extra tough spots and detailing that you can’t reach even with the detail sander, there’s one easy solution. Pick up a piece of sandpaper (it can be the ones you use for your machines), cut it or fold it if you have to to make it a bit smaller and go to town on the surface manually. This way, you’re guaranteed to reach each and every spot, resulting in a perfectly sanded, smooth cabinet! Just be sure to give it about 3 passes, each one with an increasingly finer (higher) grit of sandpaper.
Cabinet sanding can be a headache but with these machines by your side, you’ve got nothing to fear! Each one is considered by me and many others to be the best sander for cabinets for a reason – they’ll make it an easy, fast and comfortable task while also delivering excellent results. They’re also versatile so you’ll always have a great tool by your side whenever another sanding task comes up.
